God is the Light of the Heavens and of the Earth. The similitude of His light is as it were a niche wherein is a lamp, the lamp within a glass, the glass as though it were a pearly star. It is lit from a blessed Tree, an olive tree neither of the East nor of the West, the oil whereof were like to shine even though no fire were applied to it; Light upon Light; God guideth to His Light whom He will.

To God belong the East and West; wherever you turn, there is the face of God-for God is All pervading, All knowing.

Whoso believeth in his Lord, he feareth neither loss nor oppression.

God has granted to every people a prophet in its own tongue.

Fight in the Way of God against those who fight against you, but do not commit aggression.

All creatures are members of the one family of God.

Wherever ye be, death will overtake you, though ye be in lofty towers.
